GRAND HARUE
Grand Harue and it's little sister across the alley, Harue, are super popular hangouts for people living in Apkujong and/or working in Cheongdam-dong. Alot of fashion designers, stylists, models and TV people come here to people-watch as it's in the heart of the Cheongdam-dong luxury goods shopping area.
Grand Harue opened back in 2000 as a French restaurant. The interior is very European
rococo and there's a small outdoor terrace decorated with dark wood and sectioned off by some pretty bushes. In fact, the alley itself feels really green and European and the energy flows really well on that corner. While Grand Harue didn't do that well as a restaurant, it did become a super popular place to drink and it's still popular today.
This corner can sometimes be such a scene. People are always rolling up in their fancy cars. We even once saw a Lamborghini! Some people have complained that they really feel like they are being scrutinized when they come to drink here. Who is that person? What are they wearing? What are they driving? What handbag are they carrying? In fact, you have to be in the mood to get all dolled up to drink at Harue as you never know who you might run into. This corner is typical Apkujong. You probably won't see alot of foreigners here, but you will see alot of Korean entertaiment people and pretty well-groomed girls dressed in their trendy best.
If you are at the Hak-dong intersection, turn towards California fitness and make a right on the street between Coffee Bean and Burger King. Walk straight down past a restaurant with a terrace called La Tenda Rossa. You will see Seasons restaurant on the corner, turn left and it's immediately there. You will recognize the red awning. You can also find this cafe easily from the Mnet building near the Cheongdam Intersection.
